Visit to organic fields in Gallecs, Catalonia

After the kick off meeting of the LIFE+ Crops for better Soil project, we started the search of the farmers and areas. During this trip we visited the organic fields of Gallecs, located in the province of Catalonia.

Gallecs is considered a Natural Heritage. Today, it is a public consortium of 6 municipalities and 2 departments of Barcelona. It ​​has a total of 750 hectares, where 450 are cultivated, of which 50% passed the transition to organic farming.  

Moreover, it has 10 acres of organic vegetable gardens, as seen in the photo above.
